DE QUERVAIN'S TENOSYNOVITIS

Patient presents with a complaint of wrist pain on the thumb side with a history of activities that require either forceful gripping with wrist deviation to the pinkie side or repetetive use of the thumb.

Cause

Stenosing tenosynovitis of the adductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis occurs as a result of chronic microtrauma to the tenosynovium or sheath.
